2008 DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA AT A GLANCE

Tuesday, June 10 Scene One Rehersal

Students arrive at 5:30 to JBHS Auditorium.  Rehersal from 6-9 p.m. (young children can leave as soon as they are finished) Closed Rehersal.

Wednesday, June 11 Scene Two Rehersal

Students arrive at 5:30 to JBHS Auditorium.  Rehersal from 6-9 p.m. (young children can leave as soon as they are finished)  Closed Rehersal.

Thursday, June 12 Dress Rehersal Entire Show

Students arrive at 5:30 to their dressing rooms.  Rehersal from 6-9 p.m. (everyone must stay the entire time).  Open to student families only.

Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 Show Nights!!

Stage Make-Up Schedule

          High-School Students:  4:00 p.m.

          Middle School Students: 4:30 p.m.

          Elementary School Children: 5:00 p.m.

          All Others:  5:30 p.m.

Students are to be in their dressing rooms and ready to go by 6:15 p.m.  Line-up will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain raises at 7:00 p.m.

As a special Thank You to all my students and their families, I will be hosting a cast party on Saturday evening following the show in the cafeteria.  I hope you all plan on attending.  It is a wonderful opportunity for students to say good-bye to their friends and get autographs for their yearbooks.

Help Still Needed

I still need some help in the dressing rooms for the show nights and dress rehersal.  I am offering (2) complimentary tickets for anyone signed up to help.  Please check the sign-up sheet in the lobby if you can help out.  Remember, this is to ensure the safety of your children while they are waiting their turn for the stage.  If your child's room is full, please sign up for another room.  Thanks in advance for your participation.

Ticket Sales

Remember that ticket sales will open on Saturday, June 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Ticket price will hold at $7.00 each again this year.  Seats are numbered and sold on a first come first serve basis with first preference going to my staff prior to the sales day.  There is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase.

All accounts must be paid in full at the time of the purchase.  Any account not paid at this time will result in your child being removed from the 2008 Dance Extravaganza.

Please be prepared when you arrive with the number of tickets needed and the nights you wish to purchase.  This will ensure the line to move freely without delaying everyone behind you.  If possible, please be sure your account is paid in full by the time you arrive so we do not need to take care of that at the time of ticket purchase.

Also, we do hold classes on Saturdays until 11:00 a.m., so I am asking that you form the line outside the studio beginning at the fence beside the steel building to ensure the students are getting a class free of interuption.

If you cannot make this date to purchase tickets, do not worry, they will be available for purchase during rehersals and also at the door on show evenings.

Flower Sales

As a final fundraiser for the 2007-2008 Dance Season, our dance team will be offering flowers for sale during both nights of the show.

If interested you can purchase flowers for your special dancer right at our stand on the evenings of both performances.  We purchased all the flowers from The Flower Basket right her in Mercersburg and are selling them by the stem during the shows.  They are received the day of the shows to ensure you receive the freshest most beautiful flowers you can purchase anywhere.

There are no advance orders required, just go to our booth either before the show or at intermission and place your order.  They will be wrapped in tissue paper with beautiful greens and babys breath.  We even have florist cards on hand for you to hand write your own special message.

Many thanks to our dance team Moms for offering this convenience to all our dancers families on what is already a busy time.

Memorial Day Weekend

We are scheduled to be closed on Friday, May 23rd, Saturday, May 24th and Monday, May 26th to celebrate Memorial Day.

Dance Team Winding Down

Our dance team has worked hard all year and is now winding down as we approach their last competition in Hancock, MD on May 31.  Please wish them much luck as this day approaches.  I am sure they will do well as they have in the previous competitions this year.

Our dance team was made of 15 wonderful students this year who work extra time in and out of the studio improving their dance techniques.  If you think you would like to be a part of the dance team next year, please let me know right away.  This way you can help participate in our summer fundraising to get a jump start on next year's expenses.  Summer fundraisers include (2) face painting events and the 3rd Annual Golf Tournement (very profitable).

Anyone interested in registering a team for the golf tournement can see me for details.  Many wonderful prizes this year even include a NEW CAR for a hole in one.
