We offer professional instruction in the following subjects; Tap, Jazz, Acro, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hip, KinderClass, Boys Tumbling, and Down With Dance (the only dance class in our area offered exclusivly to children with Down Syndrome). You can be sure that all our faculty are certified adult instructors and are commited to their continued education in order to keep the most up to date training and techniques available.
Studio
owner and Director of Dance, Miss Dicey Higgins, has been a dance instructor in
our area for nearly 20 years. She is currently married and mother of
two young boys and is committed to sharing her knowledge of dance
with our community in the most fun and exciting ways possible.
All classes are run in a very structured atmosphere with at least one dance
assistant in each class to increase each student's learning experience.
The
dance year begins after Labor Day each year and runs through
approxomatly the middle of June. We offer several dance events
throughout the year, however none can compare to the Dance Extravaganza
held at the end of each year. To ensure each student receives the
"Star Treatment" they have dance costumes, professional stage make-up
and a wonderful experience on a stage performing in front of a live
audience. All Dance Extravaganza's are written, produced, and directed
by Miss Dicey, with the help of a professional sceenary, lighting,
sound and stage crew.
Miss Dicey Higgins, Owner and Director of Dance
Miss Dicey has been a dance instructor for nearly 20. The Dance Studio has become a way of life for her and her family. She is a wife and mother of two young boys which helps make her more compassionate to busy parents trying to meet the needs of the entire families. She is committed to bringing only the best instruction to the community and providing a fun and creative atmosphere for her students. She is certified through Dance Educators of America and continues to attend workshops in her commitment to provide the most up-to-date styles and challenging techniques.
Miss Calynne Saunders, Instructor
Miss Calynne has been dancing for many years. She began as an assistant instructor in 6th grade and has been instructing for 6 years. She is certified in dance education through Dance Educators of America. Miss Calynne has worked very closely with Miss Dicey and has great knowledge of the entire dance curriculum. Miss Calynne is known for teaching some of the toughest dance technique to our advanced dancers as well as building great strength in our younger dancers. She a valuable asset to Miss Dicey’s School of Dance and we look forward to her continued dedication for many years to come.
Miss Megan Frick, Instructor
Miss Megan ads a wonderful energy to Miss Dicey’s School of Dance. She has instructed dance for 4 years and also worked very closely with Miss Dicey for many years and is very educated on the curriculum we offer. She works extensively in our pre-school program is doing a wonderful job building strong technique in our younger dancers. Miss Megan has a wonderful personality for the young dancers and also provides a high energy atmosphere in all her classes. Her plans are to obtain her certification through Dance Educators of America in the future, however would like to focus on her studies for a career in Occupational Therapy.
Miss Wendi Cornell, Office Manager
Miss Wendi is the “method behind the madness.” She has worked as office manager for five years, however has experience in this field for many more. Miss Wendi manages accounts receivable, ordering and stocking inventory, updating the website, dance team, and so much more. When she has time, she also helps Miss Dicey’s children with their studies at the front desk. She is the “Behind the Scenes” contributor and a critical part of the success of Miss Dicey’s School of Dance.
